今天的棋，赢的“侥幸”，我执白，布局不好，虽然中盘逆转了，最后还赢14目，但不能满意。如果对方有注意自己的弱棋，早点补一手的话，那我就和他差不多了。布局下的不好，对方不按定式来下，我便手忙脚乱，哎。。。

昨日在棋所，偶遇一少年棋手，此人乍看颓废异常，但是一摆棋却是杀气腾腾。那眼神，被他盯一眼就觉得浑身不对劲，锐利的让人心虚。再看他专注的盯着棋盘时的眼神，炯炯有神；这是我记忆中遇到的第二个眼神能“暴射精光”的人。不简单，不简单。

最近一盘棋，某某突然变的好战，处处向我挑衅，一开局便是对角型，这样容易形成激战局面。刚开始的确有点困难，右面被打压在三线以下，我只能尽量在左面慢慢取外势，而他左上空逐渐的就要形成大空了，只是他好像没有意识到，并不加强。我开始打入，他防守，我送子A在三线给他吃以交换，慢慢的我的白棋在左面形成一道厚实的墙，硬生生把他的黑棋分开两大块，破空兼侵消成功。由于我的子A在黑棋势力中，他对A也只是采取枷的下法，不提掉，嘿嘿，这个才是他的致命伤。

左面差不多定型了，他开始猛攻我的右下角，但我死活题也不是白做的，右下只有三颗子我还是轻松做活了，活出个“春天”。他似乎一直想杀死我的“春天”（只有6目地啊），而忽略自己棋型的弱点，而这是由白棋A给暴露出来的。当他和我打劫，却忘记打劫的规矩，想提掉我的白棋，我阻止了他：“这是KO啊老兄，你不能提。”噢，无语，他只能下他处，又想和我开劫。不过呢，我不理，在左上空二线上一冲，企图分段，他在一线上扳，没看清楚右面紧邻着的黑棋大龙气数已尽，断点又被白棋暴露出来，被白棋反包围，然后我再在白棋A处一冲，直接威胁右边黑大龙，他才意识到危险。不管他黑棋怎么连，都是接不归，因为一开始太仁慈没提掉以为是废棋的A，深深的后悔啊，对白棋来说，却是柳暗花明。

他还在绞尽脑汁的时候，职业6段的康老师进来了，他说：“各位，我要关会所了啊。”然后他过来看我们这一边，直接给黑棋判输了，不然某某还要再和我磨，他下棋喜欢磨，希望我犯错误，却忽略自己棋形的弱点。

连续8周赢棋，心情很好，嘿嘿。这权当记录自己当时的想法吧。

以前贴过的, What is your playing style?，15道题，选A, 选B，选C，选D，还是选E，我不定期的测试玩儿，当作一个“理解”的过程吧。我不是too aggressive，便是influential oriental... 只是这一次，终于是flexible了，挖卡卡。。。

看来是先把笔尖制成一条“小鱼”，而且还是晒干以后扁扁的鱼，真象马面鱼啊（也叫拨皮鱼）。。。

愚形最佳 (变化图)，谢赫七段执白对李世石九段，黑1刺时，谢赫应在2位愚形刺，等黑3粘后，白4双，黑5必然，白6跳出。这是赵治勋九段、王汝南八段力主的变化图。不是所有愚形都是坏棋，有时还是好棋，甚至是唯一的。

实战中，

亡羊补牢，实战谢赫白2直接贴出，黑3机敏一冲，白棋不堪收拾。白4冲又错，黑5算路准，强行分断白棋。以下白棋即使在4位下一路断，黑A退先手，白B补断，黑C扳即活棋，白棋大块一命呜呼。其实谢赫中途有亡羊补牢之举，那就是，当黑3冲时，白D冲，黑E挡，白F打吃，黑粘，白5也粘，可以吃掉黑棋三子成活，只是外势尽失，形势依然落后。

小李率先进入了决赛，而中国棋手至此全部出局。

[2008-06-04]李世石夺冠，赵汉乘得亚军。冠军奖金250万日元(约合16万人民币)，亚军获得50万日元奖金(约合3万2000人民币)。两人宣布将本次比赛所获奖金全部捐献给中国地震灾区。

今天和A下棋，中盘我占主导权，感觉形势非常好，A到中间都差不多投降了⋯⋯怎么知道，他突然很“拼命”的在我的领地里来乱的。我只有继续封啊堵啊砍啊，不管他怎么下对领地的多寡丝毫没有影响。就这样，他借牺牲几个子来赚先手官子，转移我的注意力，我后面就放松了，也没怎么点目，他下我就应。。NND，结果只赢半目。Livy怒了，后果很严重。

有一次对手还是A，当时的我不知怎么的杀气腾腾，把他想守的边边角角都挖空了，结束时他只活出了一小块角再沾点边... 今天我仁慈了，被人说too aggressive，too offensive太多次，我也不好意思了，没下大杀手。不过这样也好，连续五个星期都赢棋，差点输掉也可让我警觉一下。

哎，真是应了那局格言，“赢棋不闹事”啊。

Parker Vacumatic Pearl Brown

上周收到珍珠褐色的Parker Vacumatic真空上墨，笔身上还标有“（若干字）Made in USA .5.”，说明是制造于1945年第二季，因为1948年以后都是加拿大制造了。笔盖上还有个完好的蓝色小钻石标记，可能是和Sheaffer学的小白点，用来表示lifetime warranty.

它吸墨的系统是最让我喜爱的地方，上墨时就象是在按自动铅笔一样，或者说就象按分子生物实验中不可少的Gilson移液枪 ^_^ ，按一次感觉能吸入超过 1000 uL的容积。笔身上原来是透明的，可以“窥见”墨水储量，不过我这只因为年纪大了，只有一小部分还透明，已经不容易看见里面的墨汁了。这只笔当初十分畅销，所以直止今日仍能很容易找到，价格从US$100 - US$1300不等，高价说明收藏价值，低价说明二战以后它伤痕累累，被降格到日常用笔⋯⋯

书写起来是我所有钢笔中最“湿”的，一定得用好纸（Rhodia, Apica...)，在普通纸张上书写只能让它“吐血”，穿透能力匪夷所思，如决堤的江河滔滔不绝。目前使用美国制Private Reserve墨水，中性pH，比较不伤老身，却一直不敢给它注入Noodler's “子弹不穿” (Bulletproof) 的墨水⋯⋯

这是一只老笔玩家不能错过的一只笔，比Parker 51漂亮，比Parker 51美观大方，总之比Parker 51更不容易让人联想到英雄牌。（本人儿时被英雄牌吓到了 T_T ）

今天第一次与夏老师下棋，受四子，结果是贴目以后我还赢了两目⋯⋯意外啊，惊喜啊，好奇怪啊。最后老师发出‘狠话’：“不容易啊，下次我要出毒招了。” 然后一脸坏笑⋯⋯

PS. 夏老师是职业段位棋手。

用棋盘打谱就是有感觉，战场立马就变的立体起来，也更容易理解。新棋盘到了，9kg，很好很强大，太沉了，自己找罪受。棋子是云南特产的云子，那个质地呀是细腻，色泽柔和，坚而不脆，沉而不滑。一句话，视觉感受、落盘声音和手感都是大大的不错呀。

Grado Flats - awesome!!

以前用过Grado Flat pads，没听两下就受不了了，觉得低解析，声音糊，中低频太过。。。有记录为证。

可是现在没有flats我的RS1/MS-Pro就完全听不下去了，Zana Deux底下使用了Flats根本没有声音糊、底解析的问题，反而是我现在喜欢的温暖，厚实的声音。从moderator那边借来一只vintage RS1 (no serial)，用的bowl pads，从flats换成bowls，声音从厚实变成单薄，虽然vintage RS-1的高频和PS-1一样顺滑，可是声音不够厚，不喜欢。这人的口味和喜好，年年变啊。

用Brimar的6SL7/CV1985, flats的“音场”很窄，换成1944年的Slyvania VT-229，音场开阔了些。

我竟然更喜欢HD600原装线多于Equinox?? Zana Deux底下，HD600使用Equinox声音速度比较慢，boring...换原装线，动态，速度和细节回来鸟。

Lately I very much enjoy the Grado PS-1s, it's my most used headphone these days and I listen to it almost exclusively, especially with the Zana Deux after carefully tube-rolling of 6SL7's. I never enjoyed it so much, as it seemed to sound somewhat sterile or less fun vis-a-vis the RS-1.

Butterly smooth, creamy, it's like biting a piece of chocolate, and it starts melting in your mouth with a nice aroma... Musical, it moves me. Bass is controlled and it seems to be a killer headphone for me now. The sound quality is almost like the high-end loudspeakers costing many thousands of dollars (eg. THIEL with bel canto setup for the precise imaging and speed... 6550/KT88 power amp driving the JBL 4428 for the liquidness). The Zana does bring it up to another level IMO.

These tubes work best so far: -
1. Mullard ECC35 "short" black base
2. 1944's Sylvania JAN-CHS-6SL7GT/VT229

Zana Deux for US$1900? Worth it and it's a bargain.
PS-1 for US$2500 or above? Worth the money too....:P

One thing I didn't like about PS-1 + ZD, is that you must feed it with good recorded music (jazz, jazz vocals, classical, live acoustic, etc), with badly recorded music (rock, pop...), it sounded broken, noisy and shouty. It's too revealing and good for only a handful of good recordings I have. Imagine most HI-FI setups there are hardly anybody using badly recorded music to demo how "musical" they are, same reasons. It is very hard to achieve a balance between hi-fidelity and lo-fi. Maybe I shall start another setup for badly recorded music, hmmm, very interesting. :-D

PS. Update 08.03.14:
一个和孙燕姿、张慧妹等艺人一起工作的studio musician莅临偶家，在Zana Deux底下同时听了Edition 9和PS-1，只见他听Edition 9不到一分钟就把它摘下来了，听PS-1的时候我只看到他笑容越来越多，听了近10分钟之久才摘下来和我说话，哈哈。他听现场的经验比我多太多了，而且他也有vintage RS-1 (wooden box, brown headband, gold color surround the mahogany, I am jealous), see, this already tell you a lot of things!

My Biases

I prefer warm, full-bodied, rich midrange with a smooth top end and an overall creamy sound. I also value musicality that allow me to enjoy the music without ear fatigue.

Associated Equipment

Source/DAC: CEC TL51XR and Bel canto DAC3

Interconnect/Cables : Acrolink, Virtual Dynamics, Black Sand, Signal Cable

Power: PS Audio Duet

Rack: Michael Green Deluxe JustaRack

Headphones: Sennheiser HD600 with Equinox, Audio-Technica W5000, Grado PS-1 (crushed bowls), RS-1 and MS-Pro, Ultrasone Edition 9.

Music used

Jazz, some Classical, blues, some 80's pop, classic rock, and audiophile vocals.

On to the sound

The ZD has about 160 hours. So please take it with a big grain of salt.

The Zana Deux only ships with 6D22s rectifier tubes, the input and power tubes have to be purchased separately. There's no stock Zana Deux sound that I know, as it's already tuberolled from day 1, LOL.

The following comments are drawn from a relative point of view with the PS Audio GCHA or Yamamoto HA-02 in the fray using the same setup.

The ZD strikes me with its incredible soundstage, with air space filling between the music notes. Even headphones that known for no soundstage like Grado RS-1, has a deep soundstage depth and the music actually appears to be outside of my head. The imaging is excellent that I could easily "see" the instruments and the singer appear to have their own space and place in the soundstage. The imaging of ZD is so clear and precise that I can easily pinpoint the "location" of players, trumpets, violins or anything you name it, even the chorus girl hidden behind, I could hear them clearly, isn't it amazing? The one thing I have begun to crave now is deep and holographic soundstage, which seems to be one area that differentiates a good amp from a better amp. Another noticeable impression was the musicality. You are hearing the music, not sound. It has incredible musicality that make you forget about analyzing the sound. It's that good.

Vocals appears to be detailed and addictive. Depends on the driver tube used, I feel that the vocals appear to be more neutral with european made 6SL7s (Brimar, Mullard, FIVRE) with no apparent emphasis. It won't turn thin voice to sound thicker and vice versa. The american made 6SL7s (RCA, NU, Sylvania) sounded slightly more lush in comparison, with a bit more present and weight. It really boil down to one's preference. I am absolutely happy with both types, although my preference went slightly over to the american types 6SL7s for vocals.

The bass response of this amp also worth a mention. It goes deep and tight, very well-defined and fast. Listening to acoustic music, the bass can be felt like it's in my chest at the thump-thump-thump of a good bass drum. The bass of Yamamoto or GCHA sounded woolly in comparison.

Even thought it's a tube amp, it's very clean and transparent with great punch and dynamics. If I want something lush and tubey, I will go for RCA tubes. I feel that the ZD is as neutral as with no slight preference leaning towards either tube or solid state sound. For me, it's a perfect blend of the Yamamoto HA-02 (tubey) and PS Audio GCHA (transparent, neutral), with more than a notch higher in terms of soundstaging/imaging, resolution, musicality and SQ over the GCHA and HA-02. I know with this impressions I will have a hard time letting go of the GCHA. Sigh.

For summary,
1. Soundstage is deep and wide, it appears less in your head. The imaging is excellent as well.
2. Detailed, impressive resolution, all the details come through easily and well integrated into the music effortlessly. I heard new things that I never noticed before or then becomes noticeable.
3. Bass is well defined, fast, deep, tight and detailed. Very good present, I could hear clearly how the bass works in some music. The bass on Yamamoto or GCHA sounded muddy or ill-defined in comparison.
4. Detailed midrange, and I found it's quite accurate here. Thin voice appears to be thin, thick voice appears to be thick.
5. Did I mention the black background? The background is dead silent and no hum/hiss, for a tube amp.

Now the fun begins, to cut the long story short, the sound changes more via a change in input tube i.e. 6SL7 than the power output 6C33C-B's.

The following comments are drawn from the combination that I like out of the lot.

Of PS-1, I notice the following tubes are the most remarkable:-
PS-1/FIVRE 6SL7GT - fantastic bass, that you can feel it, but can be overwhelming on certain recordings if bass was more emphasized.
PS-1/Tungsol 6SU7GTY - Bass is controlled, in which the recordings I heard with HUGE bass become smaller in volume. However, the bass isn't as defined as the Mullard ECC35 "short" black base.
PS-1/Mullard ECC35 "short" black base - now the Mullard has better control over bass, it's never overdone with PS-1, the midrange is a bit cold however.

Of Edition 9:-
Edition 9/ NU VT-229 gray class - full and rich sounding, silky smooth, very refined, bass is detailed, transparent. A very good rounder combo for jazz, classical and rock.
Edition 9/ RCA VT-229 black glass - even more detailed midrange, a bit slower in the speed but more tubey sounding, creamy and smooth. I like it.

Of RS-1/MS-Pro:-
The use of 1950's Brimar 6SL7GT CV1985 (brown base) produces the sound signature that I like best with Grados. What to say? It's a heavenly match.

Of HD600/equinox:-
HD600/ Tungsol 6SU7GTY - it's spacious, harmonic richness, dynamic drive and a 3-dimensional feel of "roundedness", the midrange presented have a fullness and body. The headphone itself disappear and left only the music. So musical. I should check out the pairing of HD650/ZD, damn, I miss the pair I sold more than a year ago.

Of W5000:-
I don't know which tube sounded best with this headphone, any tube I tried the W5000 just sound really nice. If I have to pick up, it would be Mullard ECC35, National Union VT-229, RCA VT-229. The ZD minimized the W5000's tendency to sound thin and lacking body, it maximizes its strengths in the following: resolution, sense of air and imaging, with deep and hitting bass. I'd heard a friend complaining the W5000 sounded thin with his MeloSHA Gold (tube amp), but it's not the case with ZD. System synergy.

Pros:

- NOS 6SL7 tubes are relatively cheaper and easier to find, as they are not as popular as 6SN7's
- black and dead silent background, even with highly sensitive headphones I can't detect any
- very musical
- three pairs of analog inputs and two pairs of pre-out

Cons:

- big size
- it runs very hot due to the 6C33C-Bs
- if tube rolling have to wait for the 6C33C-B heaters to cool down before powering back up, because 6C33C-B's get part of their bias from the 6SL7, and if they come up first they can draw too much current and pop the plate resistors

每次下棋的时候，夏老师会过来看看，看到谁的棋形有缺陷也会指点几句。我比较少被他说，通常都是指导我的对手，哎。然后我的对手往往在他出言指点几句后还是没找到缺陷，我就不情愿的帮对方指了出来，然后夏老师“恩”了一声，对方立马把棋补上，不爽啊。

Zana Deux真的很棒，目前为止前喜欢的前级管配置如下：

HD600/equinox - Tungsol 6SU7GTY Black glass/ Mullard ECC35 "short" base
RS1/MSPro - Brimar CV1985 Brown base （这只Brimar真的太棒了，不过朋友让我不要“声张”，免得Headfi上的大大们日后在ebay和我们竞争Brimar,汗。）
Edition 9 - National Union JAN-CNU-6SL7GT VT-229 (gray glass) （不是black coated glass，两者声音差太多了）／ RCA VT-229 (black base, black glass) 也不错，中频细节比较丰富
W5000 - 有待商榷，虽然用哪只管都好听，低频有质有量的，音乐性十足
PS-1 - 有待商榷，虽然效果已经超过GCHA好多⋯⋯
DT990 - 有待商榷，虽然效果已经比Yamamoto底下好很多了⋯⋯

其他耳机，没时间。最近实在太忙了，论文、实验、下棋，一大堆事情。啊，我可爱的星期六

陆续收到了几只管子，6SL7s不贵，结果越弄越多，>"<

HD600/Equinox - Brimar 6SL7GT black base, white print 声音细腻，音场真实，听女声很棒，听小编制有种“华丽”的味道，就是好听！
意大利的FIVRE 6SL7GT是一个惊喜，刚开始声音有点干，但是越来越好，声音比较接近石机的感觉，还需要多听听。

又买了两对Svetlana 6C33C-B (c logo). :S

最近一直在打秀策（本因坊秀策，日本伟大的棋圣，到目前为止被以『棋圣』这样的尊崇的除了第四世的本因坊道策外，就是秀策了）的棋谱，刚开始在问自己如果是我会怎么应付这种局面的时候，秀策落下的子和我想的差太多；到了后来看多了他的棋，在分析几种可能的结果后，结果却是我的第一直觉和秀策接下来落下的子相吻合（逻辑vs直觉）⋯⋯难道他下棋都是靠的直觉吗？此为无聊帖。

昨天听了一个晚上，声音很舒服，搭配W5000不错，暖声，没有了用晶体管耳放驱动时的冷、单薄。
驱动RS-1，“声场”深度更深，更多空气。
驱动PS-1，控制力都有⋯⋯
丰富的乐感
暂时还没有低噪
耳放很新，但我还是太兴奋了，迫不及待写下这些⋯⋯ still have room to improve.

Update 08/02/03:
试了几只电子管，Brimar 6SL7GT CV1985 (brown based, 1950's)声音比较tubey，声场开阔，但是还不够细腻，搭配Grado, AT很不错！
Mullard ECC35，声场更开阔，分离度比Brimar稍微好点，细节也多出来一些，搭配AT是我听到最好的了...
Sylvania JAN-CHS-6SL7WGT (chrome based, 1950's) 和HD600/Eq搭配要更好些，好多空气，我喜欢....
RCA 6SL7GT, 声音中规中矩，很冷静，比较象晶体管的声音，也不错，不过朋友借我的这只管很吵，他说下次给我拿只新的try...

Update 08/02/25:
Run 开的Brimar 6SL7GT CV1985声音一点都不tubey，声音变的非常细腻，好管！

昨天到棋会去学棋，和我对弈的是一个曾经参加过学校围棋比赛的小男生。我曾和他下过两次，对他的作风已经有些了解，他喜欢一上来就杀，前两次我都因为不小心被他杀、杀、杀，杀的难分难舍，棋形的美感经常被破坏的惨不忍睹。上了几次课，偶也小小进步了一下，刚开始他又要杀偶，但是偶小心计算着，否则一子错满盘皆落索啊，刚开始恩，偶损失了一些棋子，但越到中盘，他的白子一个个被偶提掉，一转眼偶就占了半壁江山，被我提掉的白子也越来越多⋯⋯然后一面倒，不需要收官对方主动认输了...

夏老师过来看了一眼，笑着说你太狠了吧，汗，如果不先下手为强的话，哭的人就是偶了⋯⋯上周和另一个男生下棋，他比较温和，不乱杀棋，遇到有争执的时候才对上，我执白子赢了他半目。所以我其实是很温和的...

论局篇第一

cables mini shoot-out impressions

昨天Alex到我家来听耳机。先是听了RS-1，后来PS-1，再后来Edition 9，DT150和DT990。最后决定用PS-1，因为它动听略微偏中性的音色，还有比其他耳机还要高的细节表现和惊人的揭示性 (revealing)，所以我们就用它来听听几根线材。

比较的是Acrolink的6N-A2200II，6N-A2110II（可能还未煲开），Oritek X-1，还有Kimber KS1030，Kimber Timbre，VD David 2.0，Blacksand Violet Z1电源线和Acrolink 6N-P4030电源线。虽然信号线算低端，但是绝对物超所值，绝佳的空气感连KS1030、KS1020都汗颜⋯⋯

先来说说Acrolink，Alex本来用的是Blacksand和Grover的线材，后来他由于好奇向店里借了Oyaide和Acrolink的线材来试听，从此一发不可收拾，其性价比之高致使他把手上的Blacksand和Grover通通出掉。由于Blacksand和Grover是我借给他home audition的，所以现在他反过来对我大力推荐比这些网上“知名”线材还具性价比的线材。好东西一起分享么，相互“害人”。

6N-A2200II
我们两个都一致认为这根线太lush sounding，音色非常丰富，空气感很棒，尤其是听爵士时铜管乐器的那个“丝、丝”的细节，我就是因为这个brass/cymbals detail而决定上Acrolink。Alex还认为这根线使所有音乐听起来都很开心，不管是伤心的歌还是快乐的歌，演唱者在演绎歌曲的时候仿佛都带着笑容一般。

6N-A2110II
这根线只比前者贵多S$100，没有A2200II那样lush sounding，但是空气感的细节更高也更清晰，声场的定位更准确，分离度好一些。与A2200II比较却又少了点中频的厚度，但是中频的准确性和细节却是A2200II不能比的。所以这要看你喜欢哪种口味了。所以Acrolink型号再上去，我们都可以YY到中频的厚度和空气感的精致和声场的加大⋯⋯

Oritek X-1
Alex认为这根线的中频质感和Oyaide Across 750很接近，低频的表现有欠理想，而我则可悲的发现brass/cymbals的细节比不上Acrolink，而且整体音色偏蒙。我个人觉得它和Kimber KS1030比较接近，只是少了微细节。（刚才Alex告诉我，他说X-1和Oyaide并不象，和KS1030比较接近⋯⋯）

Kimber KS1030
这根线虽然是旗舰，比起其他线材就是胜在微细节的再现，但是很可惜，空气感有欠理想。而且音色整体偏蒙，不够透明，这和一年前我第一次听它的印象完全相左。真是不比不知道，一比汗直冒。Alex说可能这是过时的技术，因为低端的Timbre比起来更超值，也比较清晰。

Kimber Timbre
这根线先后在Bel Canto和CEC RCA out接过，在后者上的表现中频有点亮，而且听黄红英的“初次尝到寂寞”竟然听到了以前没听到过的齿音。在Bel canto上则没有这个现象，说明了音源之间的差别，还是Bel canto略胜一筹。这根线在细节、透明度的表现上都可圈可点，而且是介于$100-$200之间，性价比超高，但是我不喜欢它有点数码的味道，不够自然细腻。Alex本来对它兴趣很大，但后来由于音源而听到的强大的齿音、与偏亮的中频，他的一番热情很快降到零下，我说你拿回家试听如何？他说不要了，可不可以带KS1030回去？嘿嘿。

Virtual Dynamics David 2.0 RCA
这是所比较的低端信号线中最贵的，原本以为它在GCHA的表现上会使PS-1声音过重，低频超慢及可怕，结果昨天听下来却没有了先前的听感。难道先前这根线并未煲好？不过我的电源线稍做过调整，把音源上的6N-P4030换下来，David 2.0 RCA声音还是没有先前听到的超慢，低频超重及可怕。奇怪呀！！不过由于它的价格不是很超值，所以我们都没怎么认真比较。 Update 08/02/11:

Blacksand Violet
和Acrolink 6N-P4030比起来，它的速度快了一些，但是动态感和低频却没有6N-P4030来的impressive.

Acrolink 6N-P4030 (Oyaide P/C-004 plugs)
它的低频响应和动态很好，可以感受到象是听音箱那种bass impact，从耳机上听也没有不耐听的听感。

真的很累，昨天比较的东西比较多，所以不够详细和不够“科学”，并且线材也是system and component dependent的，了解自己器材的个性来搭配线材是最重要的。。So please take with a grain of salt!

一个观察 - 关于PS1和ED9

刚才做了一个小A/B，在同一音量下，用GCHA作耳放，Edition 9比PS-1细节还多，分析力也稍微高一点。那个细节的表现也比PS-1更自然，一点都不clinical。以前为什么没有注意到呢？因为最近换了信号线，Oritek X-1，之前用kimber KS1020还真的没发现。

到我家来的人中，我也注意到这个现象：年长的（30－45岁）都比较喜欢Edition 9多过PS-1；而年轻的（30岁以下）喜欢PS-1。有两个玩音箱出身，最近才转战耳机的烧友，就很喜欢我这只Edition 9，说声音更接近模拟味道，也更饱满和厚声，整体听起来也更silky smooth. 听PS-1的时候只听几耳朵就放下了。还有他们也不约而同的认为，Edition 9的低频比PS1好..."second to none..."。

这么看来，PS1比Edition 9还挑前端。Edition 9也是各种类型音乐通吃的，听古典那分析力听着爽，听摇滚那动态让人起舞，听blues那高频的表现把弹奏吉他弦那种顺滑、精细感和开放的感觉也表现出来了，听感真实，听人声，厚实，听爵士，有厅堂感。若说缺点，就是GCHA的声场表现略微狭窄，所以Edition 9音场被“拖”后腿。现在我也逐渐偏向除了歌德以外的耳机了。期待Zana Deux的到来。

Update 08.03.14:
一个和孙燕姿、张慧妹等艺人一起工作的studio musician莅临偶家，在Zana Deux底下同时听了Edition 9和PS-1，只见他听Edition 9不到一分钟就把它摘下来了，听PS-1的时候我只看到他笑容越来越多，听了10分钟之久才摘下来和我说话，哈哈。This already tell you a lot of things!

和jlingo比较了一下各自的部分的系统，得出这样的小结论：jlingo的portables (LISA III, ED9, CablePro, IMOD) 围绕着中频 (midrange-centric)发展，低频下潜深，厚声，creamy，高频延伸还可以，播放女声非常讨好。LISA III Expedition实在很挑前端，和我的前端比较一下IMOD和CablePro明显不够用，后来干脆都在偶的home sources下测试了。

而我的，他说偏向于中高频，偏亮。而后我让他听不同signatures下的GCHA（类似电子管耳放那种偏慢、松软的声音，速度甚至比Yamamoto还慢，但是jlingo说他喜欢；还有速度快、极具动态感和punchy的GCHA），他说他应该以前也买一台了，印尼代理卖的便宜，最后得出这样的结论：GCHA is a keeper. 几天前试了一下Belden 19634电源线，这条线真是经济实惠、价廉物美，midrange-centric，但是细节也少了些；与当初听到的jlingo的系统声音比较类似了，嘿嘿。

Yamamoto HA-02 follow-up

Yamamoto HA-02煲了300多小时，真是越听越好。我从来都不是AKG, 拜亚动力的fans，可是一直被我放在盒子里的DT990, DT150, K501这些比较直白、偏向清淡口味的耳机竟然和HA-02非常搭配！这几天一直听K501/DT990/DT150，竟然也不想念森海、歌德和铁三角。朋友几天前过来蹭听，说Yamamoto底下的DT990给他的震撼还超过Apache底下的DT990，更小声的问了一句：“is this DT990?”，哈。显然，朋友和我一样从来对990不感冒。

那么Yamamoto HA-02底下的这三只耳机表现如何呢？我只能用非常MUSICAL来形容，我别的耳放都没有把它们推到那么有味道的时候，注意，这个“味道”可能是电子管特有的染色，因为就算是RPX-33底下表现良好，声音大气而通透，但总还是少了点什么，那就是MUSICAL和味道。这个“味道”也不是在说HA-02表现出来的声音还象蒙了层纱那样雾里看花般的美丽，通透度其实直逼晶体管耳放！当年让我震撼的老版DT880，也是microZOLT驱动出来的，可惜，那么好的耳放也已经停产了。

不过Yamamoto HA-02还对线材比较敏感，kimber select就不是一个很好的选择，因为这时候HA-02表现出来的声音显得单薄，声音密度也不够致密而稍微有些颗粒感；可是当我换上virtual dynamics以后一切都好很多，厚声，自然，声音密度高且顺滑。不知道是不是kimber太过揭露前端了？或许根本就是不搭⋯⋯

周末Chris去听了新的Bel canto CD-2，竟然不叫我 ...=.= 很难得的，Chris竟然喜欢CD-2的声音，他不喜欢CD-1是因为声音太clinical，而这台CD-2更Musical...恩。我要忍住，忍....

如果只能留下三只耳机，我会只留下HD600，PS-1，和Edition 9... 最近一直在听HD600，真的是很棒！

如果只能留下一只耳放，那就是Yamamoto HA-02...驱动HD600和PS-1有不俗的表现，Edition 9+HA-02的声音也渐渐打开了。。

好想出掉RPX-33入Woo Audio 6++!!

Having owned these headphone amps, I have come to my own conclusion of the following "matching" combos based on my personal tastes and preference. I prefer my sound akin to the deep blue sky with beautiful clouds: clear, transparent, full-bodied, bright, and boldly rich with hints of airiness.

Yamamoto HA-02 -> PS-1/HD600 (Equinox)/MS-Pro (PS-1: airy, articulation bass, musicality, endless decay, floating & liquid, smooth yet detailed, highest sound quality for a Grado ; HD600: ~~very sweet, sweet tone~~ *transparent, clear, creamy and rich; MS-Pro: refined, creaminess, warm, relaxed, more involving, surprisingly a good match here but not RS-1)

Rudistor RPX-33 -> Edition 9/HD600 (stock) (ED9: energetic, rock, fast, creaminess, sparkling highs, extremely low and deep bass, the midrange is very clean & full but not sterile ; HD600: relaxed, out-of-the-head soundstage, details coming 3-dimensionally from top, bottom, left and right outside of headphone, musical, the best sounding HD600 here, but not suitable for pop music unless Equinox cable is used)

PS Audio GCHA -> RS-1/MS-Pro/K501 (RS-1: creaminess, warm, PRaT, for music lover ; MS-Pro: similar to RS-1, but less involving ; K501: got body, effortless, good for Jazz without vocal)

Porta Corda MKIII -> W5000/DT990 (W5000: RICH, warm, sweet, vocal intimacy, very open sounding, endless decay, and delicacy that's able to produce very subtle details such as the fingertip-friction sounds when a guitar is played ; DT990: the bass is hitting HARD, very solid, the transient response is fast, the bass suddenly come & go, like I never notice there's a big big bass before, very smooth, airy, the resolution is superb)

Yamamoto HA-02

这个东西貌似需要很长的煲机时间。。。听感时好时坏的，痛苦。几耳朵的印象下来，这是台和晶体管耳放一样有相当高细节表现的耳放，器乐之间的定义线条分明，比EMP更有石机的味道，但是透明度还不是太好。目前为止就和PS-1最搭（不是RS-1，奇怪），HD600也推的不错，和晶体管耳放是另外一种“口味”，驱动Edition 9的时候，我体会到了markl在某文中说的Edition 9的"Bass cloud" =.= 再一搜索，有人说“Yamamoto Sound Craft does run all of its amps and preamps for many hours before shipping them out. But these units still benefit from additional burn-in time, and will continue to sound better and better during the first two to three months of continuous use.”

二到三个月，哎

原来Edition 9 + Yammy声音很不自然，还有一团浓的化不开的低频堵在那里。现在，Edition 9 + Yammy (130小时）声音非常自然，开放。相信煲下去还会有收获的。

W5000

我找到了我要的W5000的声音，那个耳放不是Yamamoto HA-02, 不是PS Audio GCHA，更不是Rudistor RPX-33，也不是御用耳放HA5000（因为我没有），而是看起来毫不起眼、塑料外壳，超级便宜 ($160 bucks!）的Porta Corda MKIII随身耳放。什么？随身耳放？是的，连我自己也很意外。

怎么可能呢？$160美元的随身耳放能驱动W5000？是的，狮屎胜于熊便，CT720 -> Cardas HPI -> Porta Corda III -> W5000真的很好听，声音非常非常的rich，这是我始料不及的，而且细节还不少，非常开阔，简直不是一个随身耳放应该有的声音。上周偶然一试，天啊，我的嘴巴合不拢了。

其他比它贵的耳放驱动W5000也很好，开阔、通透、细节丰富，毒死人不偿命的女声，但就是没有Porta Corda III那种非常rich非常饱满的声音，那种蓄势待发的爆发力，内力充盈，脉息极强⋯⋯ 其实深入一想，从CT720到Cardas HPI到Porta Corda III，这三件东西没有一样声音不暖，对于上半身发达下半身虚弱的W5000而言，不能不说是一个非常合理的一个组合。System matching.

不小心把Enzyplex也纳入到背景中来，oops⋯⋯ CT720一定要用电池，直接使用自带充电器的话有低噪，声音毛刺不耐听（交流电不干净）

Gregg Straley's limited IC

Ever since I received Gregg's power cord, I am still impressed and it remains plugged into my GCHA. I'd heard neither his interconnects nor speaker cables, but then when I saw that he offered an IC that is limited availability with improved air, dynamics and details, I ordered it and they come with the Vampire OFC. It's slightly more expensive than his standard ICs, but still not too expensive (US$295 for 1.0 meter + international shipping). As usual, the ICs were pre-burned in prior to shipping, so another 24 or 48 hours to let it fully settled in the setup will be enough to fully evaluate its performance.

I have had the IC for over two weeks, the first thing I noticed when I plugged it in, was the sense of air and the background details were clearly separated between each note. It sounded almost as good as my old Kimber Select KS1020, which is 80-90% of the KS1030. But over time, Gregg Straley's limited IC definitely has excellent air over the KS1020, this is very obvious when I listened to Jazz, acoustic, unplugged, lounge kinds of music. And the resolution is great, it maintains a good level of air and space in between every note. Listening to notes, it become very easy to distinguish them.

Another notable about his ICs is the bass. And I feel that his power cord also excel at bass. They are thinner than any fancy heavy thick thick cords, but hey they punch like hell. Same thing happens to his limited ICs (I have not heard his standard ICs), on my GCHA (RPX-33 is on loan to a friend) driving the HD600/Equinox, OMG the one note tight tight bass, punchy, deep, it's transient attack, yet have a natural fullness. Creating a sense of how real the trumpets can sound, nothing emphasized nor exagerrated.

This IC has a very balanced sound overall, when there should have "bite" or attack in the recording it will hit and kind of making you pay attention to it. But when I go back to KS1020 it is not as prominent as Gregg's ICs. This cable is tonally accurate too. Everything I want for solid state gears: full midrange, punchy lows yet airy decay drum, dynamics and smoothness, detailed, spacious, resolution, not so forward not so laidback, realism, palpability; all are not lacking.

Having said all this, I am really liking the ICs. It strikes me as remarkable, to say the least, it's extremely musical and enjoyable. I recommend this cable for systems that sound lean, sterile, and lacking in transparency/air.

All the above opinions are my very own drawn from humble mid-fi setup comprising of CEC TL51XR > Grover S AES/EBU > Bel canto DAC3 > PS Audio GCHA > Senn HD600/Equinox (PS. with good recordings, the signature of HD600 here really reminds me the Orpheus that I heard in Jaben)

有一天，我问Grover你做电源线吗？他说如果你真的喜欢我的cables我可以做给你，给我线的长度和功放的瓦特数...于是，他便做了一条电源线给我...价格嘛，比BSC Violet贵就是了。

今天才收到，这两天是怎么回事，电源线人品大爆发。。。

貌似和BSC Silver Reference用的头一样，wattage 350i

线非常柔软。。。

依照我自己的习惯，我还是把它接上GCHA来听效果，GCHA对线材更换比较敏感；由于Grover一般都不会先煲线材所以这根电源线初听很怪，有气无力的感觉，可是细节多，恩，有潜力。过了几小时后听 (DT990)，天啊，Buena Vista Social Club竟然听到以前没听到过的细节？！还有细节的定义、定位等，实在是难得，我以为已经没啥细节可挖掘的时候，这根电源线推翻了我的想法。看来以后电源线的头子要用镀铑的才行，够折腾，呜呜。。。某人说：“少年！这就是发烧！哇哈哈哈哈”

当然，需要再煲几天才有想法。

Update (07/7/12):

考虑到Gregg的电源线厚声饱满，Grover微细节定义丰富，两者一同搭配还真是。。。Gregg的电源线接在CEC转盘上，Grover接在GCHA上，Sarah McLachlan的"Elsewhere"一开声，那低频强劲、有力！我这个温柔曾经有点模拟味道的耳机系统从来没有那么劲暴过，音响性十足，接上HD600/Equinox还挺不错。但直觉上这样的系统不耐听，而且中高音部分听起来有点假，不然其他地方都挺好。接着煲，希望会好。
